Fire Department
- Fire Chief Hauck reported that he and Police Chief Korte have discussed the tuition reimbursement ordinance with the Finance Committee and they have reconciled any concerns. The Finance Committee will finalize the Tuition Reimbursement Policy and there should be an ordinance on the agenda in January. Both Chief Hauck and Chief Korte indicated that they are in favor of the policy as amended, as it addresses their concerns over flexibility and potential curriculum.
- Ohio Midwestern College, formerly Temple Baptist College, has signed a lease to occupy Sports Plus, Chief Hauck indicated that they are working with the Fire Department for an occupancy permit, but due to zoning issues, the occupancy permit cannot be issued. The college and Sports Plus will have to request a variance.
- Chief Hauck has narrowed the choices for the new ambulance down to two manufacturers. It is expected the final bid process will occur in 30 – 45 days and after the order is placed, it will take approximately 4-6 months before we receive a new unit.
Police Department
Chief Korte is requesting that the Confidential Informant & Emergency Assist Funds be deleted as a separate line item and that they be added into his General Fund in the budget. He has discussed this with CFO Cynthia Caracci and they both agree that this will make accounting easier. The Committee unanimously agreed to approve the change.
Chief Korte also reported that two in-car video systems and a microscope were purchased using the Law Enforcement Trust Funds. Attached is Chief Korte’s report with further details.
At 6:30, by motion by Mr. Ranz and by Mr. Puthoff – meeting adjourned.
